Collaborate.

The Company: Present in over 113 countries with 86,000 members, AIESEC is the world’s largest youth-run organization that provides international leadership development experiences to create a positive impact in society.

My Role: Global Program Director, International Internships based in the headquarters

The Goal: Achieving 45% growth in international internships in 1 year

The Challenge: Facilitating leadership teams in 113 country offices to identify with the goal and collaborate to achieve 45% growth

Strategies: 

  • Connecting to Deliver’, creating an organization culture of collaboration that would result in achievement

  • Clustering country offices based on internal & external reality to mentor each other

  • Facilitating partnerships between country offices to speed up delivery

  • Cross-pollinating success stories across offices through conferences, virtual campaigns and social media

  • Aligning rewards  to identify and promote successful collaboration between country offices

Outcome: AIESEC achieved a historic 45% growth in internships, highest in 15 years 

In engaging AIESEC offices with our mission

to connect and deliver 45% growth, I conceptualized and created a campaign called ‘We’re on it!’ This campaign integrates individual and team effort to achieve a shared goal. Here is a video that I used to launch the campaign – it’s a collection of clips from AIESEC members across the world talking about how they are collaborating to achieve 45% growth. Its diverse in terms of nationality, function, age, gender, religion, and interests – but by pushing the right buttons, these individuals connected to deliver a highly ambitious growth target for AIESEC.

My role demanded that I work closely with my immediate team of 22 people from 17 nationalities in order to deliver on my plan, as well as facilitate collaboration between country offices, in order to achieve the organization’s plan.
